ALL YOU WHO HUNGER

All you who hunger and thirst for the Lord,

Come to his banquet to-day,

Jesus our Saviour is calling:

All you who pass by the way,

Come to the feast that is ready,

Hasten and do not delay.

We are but pilgrims unworthy, O Christ,

Say but the word that will heal,

That we may taste of your goodness,

Share in your heavenly meal,

Till you in heaven your beauty,

To us enraptured, reveal.

Bread for the journey that takes us, dear Lord,

Nearer your kingdom each day,

Wine for the weakness that breaks us,

Slaking our thirst on the way

Till we shall meet where forever

Love is the sceptre and sway.
