I AM THE GOOD SHEPHERD

O how good and delightful to live

together all united.

Greater love has no one than this that he

lay down his life for those he loves.

I am the Good Shepherd, says the Lord,

My life I lay down for my sheep,

I know my own and my own know me,

As the Father knows me and I know him.

If you keep on faithful to my word,

You are truly my disciples,

You shall come to know the truth indeed,

And the truth shall make you free.

I am the vine and you are the branches,

And my Father is the gardener,

Those who dwell in me, bear abundant fruit,

For without me you can do nothing.

Those who come to me shall not hunger,

Who believe in me shall never thirst,

I am the Bread that came down from heaven,

Bread that brings life to the world.

Greater love has no one than this,

That he lay down his life for others.

Therefore love each other as I loved you:

This is my commandment to you.

No longer do I call you servants,

Rather have I called you my friends,

All the things I heard from my Father,

I have made known unto you.
