FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD

You shall love the Lord your God

with all your heart,

All your mind, all your strength.

You shall love your neighbour as yourself.

For God so loved the world.

That He gave us his only Son.

Whoever trusts in Him,

Shall obtain eternal life. (2)

Tis by grace you have been saved

through faith in Christ,

Not by works, lest you boast.

Even when your trespasses had rendered you dead,

You were made alive in Jesus Christ.

As the Lord has pardoned you,

so must you forgive:

Let his peace rule your heart,

He has nailed your trespasses

and sins to the cross.

So give thanks to God through Jesus Christ.

And I pray that Jesus Christ

may dwell in your hearts,

Through your faith, through your love.

May his Spirit strengthen you

with power and might.

May your lives be rooted in love.
