WE HAVE KNOWN GOD'S LOVE

We have known God's love for us,

Alleluia, alleluia.

We too must lay down our lives

for our brethren, alleluia, alleluia.

This is the message from Christ the Lord:

God is light, in Him, there is no darkness.

Have we attained the knowledge of God?

The test is to keep his commandments.

Yes, the unloving just don't know God;

God is love, this love he showed to us,

In that he sent his Son to the world

To heal and forgive all our sins.

The one who loves abides in light.

One who hates one's neighbour, is in darkness,

So let us love each other, my friends,

For one who loves is of God.

Let not our love be just talk or words.

If it's true, it shows itself in action.

By this we gain the knowledge of love:

"That Christ laid his life down for us."
