Come, you who thirst for serenity and truth,

Bring your heart and come along.

Blessed are you who are spiritually poor,

For the kingdom of heaven is yours.

Happy are you who are moaning and bewailing,

God will comfort his people.

Blessed indeed are the humble minded people,

For they shall inherit the earth.

Happy are you who are seeking after truth,

For you will get satisfaction.

Happy are you who are merciful and kind,

For the Lord shall be merciful too.

Blessed the pure with no evil in their hearts,

They will see their God in his glory.

Happy are you who are labouring for peace,

For the Lord shall call you his children.

Happy the tortured who suffer for the truth,

For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
