HE WAS WOUNDED

He was wounded for our transgressions.

He was bruised for our iniquities.

For upon Him, was the chastisement,

The chastisement that made us whole.

And by his wounds we are healed (2).

Praise the Lord!

We despised Him, the man of sorrows,

We rejected the man with bitter grief.

Who among us knew He was dying,

He was dying for our own sins?

It was God's plan that He should suffer,

It was God's plan that He should live again.

Thus His servant has won salvation,

Won salvation for all mankind.
